The Communities Group Foundation, Inc., operating on a non-profit basis, works to provide and support affordable housing, with an emphasis on resident control, ownership and self-reliance. The Foundation's board and members are committed to the development of communities, not merely housing complexes. The Foundation promotes the development of affordable, new construction multi-family housing, supports economic development that will benefit housing community residents, and assists residents of existing properties to obtain control of their housing communities through management or ownership, or both. To achieve its goals, the Foundation works with federal, state and local government shelter and community development programs and collaborates with resident and neighborhood organizations, housing authorities, private developers, local non-profit corporations and the faith community.
